Kameryn is Coming!!

Kameryn is coming! Kameryn is coming! Kjersti is at Lakeview Hospital right now. I am so excited for her to come. I hope that we are able to reach mom and tell her to turn around and come back from Wyoming so that she can go be with Kjersti. I am really sorry that I can be there too. I have to work today and no one will cover for me so that I can leave... Sorry Kjersti. I will babysit for you though. ;)

Silent Hill

I am ashamed of even admiting that I saw this movie, but I wanted to warn everyone else to NOT see it. I was hanging out with Natalie and Josh and Josh was dying to see this movie. He thought it looked so good and he spent half the night persuading Natalie and me to see it. I don't like horror movies, but I let him talk me in to this one because of the cast. (I love Sean Bean) But, I wasted not only my money, but two hours of my life as well. We almost walked out, but once I have seen most of a scary movie, I have to finish it in order to stop thinking about it. It wasn't just scary, it was also just disgustingly gory. I don't want to go too much into details but there was a lot of barbed-wire in it. During the climax of the movie a girl got up and left and actually threw up before she was able to get all of the way out of the theatre. Enough said?

The Little Shit

Well, we now know why Allie and Steve called Dante the little shit. The night that Allie and Steve left back to Nevada, Dante showed his disapproval by peeing all of Geoffrey's bed. However, since then he hasn't done it again and Geoffrey has forgiven him enough to let him back into his room now.

Cat #5

As many of you know, we recently have added Dante to the kitties that live at our house. He is so sweet and I am really hopeful that he and Mael will get along. They get really close and sometimes hiss, but in general they just sit close to each other. Mael has been getting along with him better than any of the other cats I have seen him with so far. However, Scout and Dante do not get along. Any time he even gets close to her she will try and claw his face. He just walks away from her, but she really doesn't like him. So, hopefully with Mael and Dante they will just decide that the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Dante also LOVES to go outside. He is a very clean, soft kitty, but when I let him go outside, he rolled in every leaf that he could find and got completely dirty. He loved it. :) So, the new kitty is settling in just fine so far.

Dinner Date with Dad =)

Saturday night I took dad out on a date. We ate at Crown Burger and then went over to Century to see Take the Lead. We had a lot of fun. I really liked being able to hang out with dad. Part of the reason that we needed to at least get together was that the U of U was so annoyed that I hadn't paid my entire tuition that they sent me a letter telling me that I had less than three weeks to pay it before they sent it to a collecter and took away my taxes for the next seven years. I called dad to see if he could help and he offered to pay for the entire thing. So, I took him out. But, it was also really good to just be able to talk to him. I apologized for always needed him to get me out of trouble, such as my tickets and school tuition problems. He told me that since he lives with Joy's kids there isn't even a comparrison. That made me feel good. =)

Organized Chaos

Downtown Salt Lake has been a mess the last few days. On 4th South and State St. all of the Hispanic people in the nearby area have been protesting the immigration laws. I couldn't beleieve how many people were there. And before that, while I was working up the street, people kept coming in and telling us that we should go and join the protest. I thought that it was just a Sunday thing, but there was still people there today. And any Hispanic people you see walking in the downtown area is carrying an American flag...

On the Radio

Today when I was taking Geoffrey to school, my radio station was airing the preview for United 93 and describing what we couldn't see happening, like the planes hitting the towers. So, as soon as they were done, I called in and told them how angry I was about the whole thing. They put me on the air and let me vent to everyone listening to 97.1 even though they didn't really share my opinion. They think that the movie looks like it was being "tastefully" done and that these people deserve to have their story told. They did agree with me, however, on the fact that the movie with Nicholas Cage was a bad idea. Jessica told me that 9/11 is a part of history like everything else so there is bound to be movies to be made about it. I just told them that they should wait longer because it is still too raw. They also explained to me that United 93 might be pulled until a later time, but right now it is due to open in April.

As a side note... Sassy doesn't mind driving in the snow as long as she has tread on her tires and now that she has four new ones... :)

To make matters worse...

When Kjersti went to go and see Ice Age 2, she saw a poster for United 93 AND a poster for a movie called World Trade Center. I told her that there was no way, but I looked it up and it is true. Oliver Stone is directing the movie, starring Nicholas Cage about two men that get trapped under the rumble at Ground Zero after the WTC falls. I think that there is something morally wrong about people that want to make money from that. And I am really REALLY pissed that known actors would be willing to play parts like that too. Honestly, what is wrong with people?

Your turn Wesley!!

Wes, I had a dream last night that Elisalyn got pregnant. You were down here and were showing me the five different outfits that you had bought. You didn't know if it was a boy or a girl, so you got colors that would go for either. As you were showing me the clothes you were telling me at what times your baby could wear them. For example, you had a black one that your baby could wear when it was going to get messy, or a maroon one it could wear when it was watching T.V. You explained to me that mom had taught you what stains you could get out of certain colors, so that is why you had chosen the colors that you had. :)

United 93

Okay, I have already talked to mom and Allie about this, but I just had to say that I am really REALLY upset by the upcoming movie about Flight 93. I was disturbed about the teaser trailer with just the plan flying and then turning around back toward the east coast, but now there is a full trailer for the movie, complete with images showing the two planes that hit the WTC. They waited 80 years to make a movie about Titanic, 60 years to make one about Pearl Harbor, but for some reason they think that 5 is enough to make one about 9/11. Just the trailer for this movie almost made me cry and mom did cry. It is in front of the movie Inside Man, so beware to anyone who is still extremely sensitive to this whole subject.

Is that legal?

So Natalie works at the new El Matador that opened right next to Baskin on Main St. While at work, Natalie fell and cut her wrist open. She needed six stitchs to close the wound but she also cut a nerve that makes it so that she can't feel her palm anymore. Even if she goes to a specialist, she will never regain feeling there. El Matador gave her workers comp. for the time that she had to stay out of work, but now that she got her stitches out and feels ready to work, but they won't let her... is that legal or is there something that she can do about that? They haven't fired her, but she isn't getting workers comp. anymore and he hasn't let her start working again.

"The Best Two Years"

I am really having a hard time with the fact that all of my friends are leaving in a short time. Will is leaving next week and it already seems like he is gone. He is never able to do anything because he has been packing his room up, and getting ready to leave. I am really going to miss him. He just laughed when I asked him if I could talk him out of it. His farewell is on Sunday and I have signed off work so that I can go. (No one die of shock... yes I am going to be going to church...) Jay leaves a few weeks after Will and then Kennedy leaves two weeks after that. Between all of my friends, though, I think that Kennedy is going to the best place. Jay is going to Mexico and Will is going to Portugal, but Kennedy gets to go to Norway.

And The Nominees Are....

I have now seen all of the movies nominated for Best Picture. The Academy Awards are on Sunday, so I had to hurry and see the last one. The nominations, in the order that I liked them, are:

Crash - a drama that follows the lives of ethnically different people living in L.A. in a two day period and how all of their lives connect.

Brokeback Mountian - (like you don't know) The movie that Larry Miller banned from his theaters because it was about two gay cowboys.

Good Night, and Good Luck - the six reporters that stood up to General McCarthy during the McCarthy trials in the 1950's.

Capote - Truman Capote investigated the murder of an entire family in Kansas and interviewed the killers for his non-fiction book In Cold Blood.

Munich - the very long winded story of the men that revenged the Munich Olympic attacks of the Jewish competitors by Black September.

This is the order that I liked them, but my guess is that Brokeback Mountain will win.

Odd Sleeping Patterns...

Instead of staying up all night, I have now started going to bed earlier. However, recently, I always seem to wake up around one in the morning for no reason. And last night I had a very strange dream... I was about to get married to a kid that I knew back from school, but I hadn't talked to him in a long time. My wedding was so rushed that none of my friends even knew that I was getting married, and it was also so unimportant to me that I had worked that morning. After work I came home and changed into my wedding dress, but I had forgotten to make hot fudge at work, so I went back and made the hot fudge even though I got some on my dress. Afterwards I was walking home and I passed my friends Will, Kennedy and Amber all standing outside of Dee's. I told them that I was getting married. They asked me why and I honestly couldn't tell them. At this point I started having second thoughts and decided to call of my wedding.

I have been hearing a lot of wedding talk lately since Eddy is getting married on Saturday, but Eddy wasn't even in my dream. The other thing that I found odd was I knew exactly who the groom was to be but I have no idea why I would be thinking about him. He was a kid that I went to school with, but we were never friends and I didn't have a crush on him. He was just someone I knew.

So everyone knows, I am planning to go to Eddy's wedding. We have started talking again and are trying to work on becoming friends again. I know that things are going to be extremely different now because he is getting married and he has ruined a lot of the trust that I once had in him as my best friend but we are trying to work on things because we had been close friends for a really long time. Anyways, I know that most of you don't approve, but this is what I want to do.

(Thanks Allie for my CD's. I have been listening to both of them for the last couple of days. :) Thank you!)

Annoying people at work

Today was a busy day. I always had a line or as one person left, another one would come in. During all this, a lady called and ordered a cake and then called back a few minutes later telling me that she needed to change some things about the order. I was in the middle of ringing some people up and there was one lady waiting for a cake that she had already paid for, so I told the lady to hold on for a minute and finished helping the people in the store since they were there first. Two minutes later when I got back to the phone, the lady had hung up on me. She then called back and asked for my manager. When I told her the circumstances and that I was the only one in the store, she proceeded to yell at me for putting her on hold. Obviously, she was more important than the other people who were waiting...

I also had a man come in today who asked me to call him a cab. I said that I had no idea how to do that. The only cabs I have ever been in you just signalled for like in New York and there aren't any in Bountiful... But, when I told the man that I didn't know how to call him a cab he replied, "What? You have never used a phone before." I just looked at him to see if he was being serious. When I realized that he was I said, "I have used a phone before." He then asked me how many times I had used one. At this point I passed him on to my co-worker, because since I work in customer service, there is no polite way to say "Fuck you."

My Dad Kicks ASS!

So today I wanted to write the check for my ticket, but since I cleaned my room, my ticket was no where to be found. Low and behold my mom had actually taken it and given it to my dad. He then proceeded to make a court date and went to the Woods Cross Courthouse to argue my case. After talking to the judge, she lowered my ticket and Dad then paid the rest of it off. So, unknown to me, both of my parents secretly took care of my ticket. Thank you both very much! I love you!

Everyone's doing it..

Okay... Danae convinced me... I created a blog so that you can all know what I am up to.

I am very excited that Valentine's Day is over. I had a million cakes to make and the whole thing ended up being extremely stressful.. I was supposed to go on a date with Cody that night, but my friend Layla broke up with her boyfriend right before we were supposed to leave, so we just let her come with us... so a threesome isn't really a date...

My ticket finally came in the mail.. it is for $82 dollars... so it could be worse... I am still mad about the whole thing, but oh well...
