Travel Plans

Today we went and saw Kennedy at the airport. Kennedy had wanted us to come, but Amber didn't know for sure if she wanted to go, since seeing him would make her miss him that much more. I wrote him telling him that we might not come, but then I explained to Amber that he would be looking for us and probably feel bad if we didn't come. Amber, Billy, Ben, Molissa and I all went and he was really excited to see us. He had even been looking for us, like I knew he would be. We all had written him letters too to make sure that he had something to do on the plan ride. Although, unlike Will, he had said that he was going to call and then he never did. I am a little disappointed in that.

And speaking of disappointing Elders, Will didn't write me this week, when I know that he wrote at least three other people. People keep telling me that my letter probably got lost in the mail. I am a little jealous that he would write to them and not me, but more specifically I just want to know why he wouldn't want to write to me when he has been so good about it so far.

Mom and I now have travel reservations for going down to the Shakespearean Festival. I am really excited. It will also be really nice to get away from work for a weekend. I have been to the Shakespearean Festival before, but I have never seen one of the plays outside, so I am looking forward to that too.

Dawn of Roses

"Now Will, Tasha, and Chelsee sat soaking in the sun as the roses did. Chelsee was only eight and had instantly attached to the two friends when she arrived two weeks ago. She was the only thing that kept the two sane. She gave them something to look after and something that many had lost, love. With her shining brown hair and eyes Chelsee was, despite the anguish around her, always smiling. She always looked at things in the most optimistic way that quickly spread to those around her. Many would be gone now if she hadn’t arrived."

-- Dawn of Roses, short story written by Will McLachlan

Thanks Allie!

Last night, I had a dream that Allie came up to see me from Nevada. She said that she could tell that I was having a rough week and she knew that I liked it when people came in to see me at work, so she had driven all the way up here to make me feel better. She stayed for a couple of hours but then she had to go back home. So, thanks Allie for making my week a little better. :)

Family Thoughts?

I wanted to get the family's thoughts on this because I think I might just be over-thinking it. I got another e-mail from Will today, but it was a forward to everyone from his old account. It was one of those messages from hotmail saying that if you didn't forward it to at least 18 people you would have to start paying for your account next summer. I found this strange because in my last e-mail from Will he told me that he wouldn't be able to check his old account again and that he wasn't allowed to return any of my e-mails with another e-mail. I find it odd that he would be willing to break the rules in order to pass along a forward, so I think that he is homesick and trying to reach out to something familiar. So, what do you guys think? And, if you do agree with me that he is homesick, is there anything I can do to help him out?

Cakes, Cakes and more CAKES

Never fear! The world of cake decorating is back on track! All 85 back-up cakes are done. I only had to work nearly 27 hours in the last two days in order to get it done. In the middle of all of that, I really started to stress out. A lady had ordered a cake, and somehow the order must have gotten lost, because she came in for the cake and not only did I not have it, I didn't even know that I was supposed to be making it. She was really upset and really stressed me out. I already had a million cakes to make, but she just added one more! I text my boss and said, "Remind me why I like doing this again". But, today is my day off and I got plenty of sleep, so bring on the cakes!

Harry Potter

I think people like this are dumb. I sometimes go to mugglenet.com to check up on the updates for Harry Potter. Today I read an article telling about a woman that tried to have all six of the Harry Potter books removed from school libraries. She said they are full of "evil themes, witchcraft, demonic activity, murder, evil blood sacrifice, spells and are teaching children all of this." She hasn't actually ever read any of them because she said that they were too long, but she took this matter to court. Needless to say, she lost. Harry Potter has remained in school libraries, but she is appealing the case.

Outburst!

On Saturday night, I finally got up the courage to go and talk to Will's mom. I figured a nice ice breaker would be taking her copies of the pictures that Will had sent me from the MTC. So, I went over there and showed them to her. She was very greatful because the ones Will had sent to her got lost in the mail. She told me all about how he is doing now that he is in Portugal. I told her that he wasn't allowed to e-mail me so I hadn't really heard from him yet, so she offered to forward all of the e-mails he sends home to me! I had been thinking about that, but I didn't ask and then she offered! It was really nice. His family had just finished cooking dinner, and she invited me to come and eat with them. After dinner, they wanted me to stay and play games with them. We played Outburst! It was really fun. We played boys against girls, and Will's sister warned me that the girls never won. But then we won both rounds. It was really nice of them to let me hang out with them.

FINALLY!!!

I got a message from Will today! He hasn't been able to write me a letter yet, so he e-mailed me. He wrote saying that he was breaking this one rule this one time to send me his address since I haven't been able to write him either because I didn't have his address in Portugal. He told me that I should appreciate the e-mail because he was breaking the rules to do it. Like we haven't been breaking them before?
