Last night, some lady got a double scoop and a small shake. As the lady was paying, a cop came in, and was waiting to order behind her. She had handed us her credit card, and then without even waiting for it to print out, went out the door. Janelle chased after her to make her come back in a sign it and give her back her card. As the lady is signing for it, the cop mouths to Janelle to check for I.D, so she asked for it. The lady says that she left her I.D. in the car and goes out to get it. As Janelle is getting the cops order, he realizes that the lady never came back in and sees her take off in her car. He gets into his car, turns on his lights and pulls her over a block away. The lady didn't have ANY I.D. on her what-so-ever.
About an hour later, the lady's brother comes in and shows Janelle I.D. that matched the card and says that his sister is going to sue the police department and us. The cop had to come back in and get everyone's statements that the lady was acting suspicious, etc... I was telling Janelle that it is a stupid idea to try and sue the police department. All that is going to happen, is that the cop will say that in order to drive, you HAVE TO have your license and that is a form of I.D. so she should have had it if she was driving. But, the lady is saying that the cop had no reason to pull her over, that he didn't turn his lights on and that he nearly caused an accident trying to pull her over. I don't think I will hear anything else about this "lawsuit", but it is further proof to me that ice cream = stupidity.

Yea, the law says you are always supposed to have your driver's license with you when you are driving, duh... As they say, though, there's no law against stupidity.
I wish there was, but then there would be a whole lot less ice cream business for me! :)
