Driving Lessons

I took Geoffrey down to the driver's range at Bountiful High and let him drive my car tonight. I know that Gary tried earlier, but I thought it would help Geoff learn with my car since it is an automatic. I taught him some of the basics, such as which one was the brake, windshield wipers, and turn signals... and even though we turned left on a right turn signal, things generally went okay. He is nervous to learn, and feels bad when he almost gives me whiplash, but I explained to Geoffrey that even though we pay the Driver's Ed teachers to teach you how to drive, they already expect you to know how. He is driving with his teacher on Monday, so we will see how that goes for him. Hopefully tonight helped so that he knows some of the basics.

As a side note, we decided to leave when some dumb high school idiot decided to be speeding around the parking lot and doing donuts. I wanted to call the cops on him especially when the kid stopped the car, got out and peed in the nearby bushes. Dumb high school kids. I am so glad that I am out of high school!!

Thanks for taking Geoffrey under your wing and helping him practice driving. I can't believe that your driver's ed instructor made fun of you for not knowing how to drive already. When I went to school, the driver's ed teacher expected to do the teaching. Hopefully, your dad will agree to give him some lessons, too. I am known far and wide for my chicken-ness in giving driving lessons.
