Today was my day off from work. So, I called the IRS to get them to send me a new tax return since I lost my first one. It took me nearly an hour, with four different phone calls, but I finally got a lady to say that she would send me the form to fill out to get a new check.
After that, I went out to Farmington to get my Food Handler's Permit renewed since my old was has been expired for about a year now. Jay was nice enough to take me out to Farmington and while he ran some other errands, I studied for the test. I missed four questions, but I didn't really care what temperature a hamburger needed to be cooked to anyways. ;)
Then I headed out to the Redwood Road Campus of SLCC to take my placement tests so I can start getting registered for Fall Semester. I took both the English and the Math placement tests. Even though I have been out of school for about two years, I still placed into the highest English and Math classes that I need for my major. I still read at a college level. I tested highest in Sentence Skills. (That's because my mom taught me that a preposition is the worst thing you can end a sentence with.) Then second in my Reading Comprehension. My Elementary Algebra is still there. My college level math was a little rusty, but I still qualified to just take the one highest math class and then be done with it since it doesn't add to my major. I decided today that I wanted to major in Photography. Officially it is called an Applied Science Degree in Visual Arts and Design with a Photography Emphasis, but that's okay with me. I talked with my Academic Advisor about getting my credits transfered from my AP classes and my semester at the U of U. He also gave me the list of classes that I need to take in order to graduate. So, today was the first serious step that I have taken about getting back into school, and I am proud of myself for doing it. :)

We love SLCC!! Good job, Chelsee. I am VERY proud of you for showing initiative, and for going for what you love. You have a real talent and I think you will do well in school.
Congrats on retaining all that smartness after SO many years! Man, you're getting old. :)
Yea! I am proud of you for taking on the "red tape" of government bureaucracy and the annoying requirements of being legal at BR and getting back into school. That was what Allison calls a "gitter-done day." If you are like me, you put off stuff like that because it is such a hassle, but then when you finally tackle it, it feels really good to have it out of the way. We all know you are smart. You can't get a 3.9 GPA and work two jobs without being pretty darn smart and disciplined. Good for you.
