Dating, Decorating and Decision Making

First off, I wanted to tell everyone that I went on a date on Thursday. A guy I knew in high school asked me. We are kind of friends. I wrote him on his mission and have seen him twice since he has been home. Anyways, his name is Sean. (He is the guy on the left with the glasses.)

He took me to go see Brian Regan down in Thanksgiving Point. I had never heard of Brian Regan before, but Geoffrey and Torrie were pretty jealous that I got to go. I had to get work off a little early, but Sean just picked me up from work. We drove down to Thanksgiving Point in plenty of time, but then got pretty lost. I kept telling him where I thought it was, but since neither one of us had been there before, he went with there he though it was rather than where I thought it was. Ended up that I was right and we only just barley got there in time. I have pretty good sense of direction, but also, I have been to a few concerts before. When in doubt, follow the huge crowd of people heading in the opposite direction! Most likely, they are going to the same place that you are! :) Anyways, here is a little clip of one of the joes he told for those of you that haven't really heard of him either.

So, my date went pretty well. I had a good time.

I also wanted to show you guys some of the decorating I have been doing for my apartment.

And since I promised I would post some more pictures of my cakes, I have a few more that I did for you guys to see.

I don't know where else to stick these pictures in this blog, so here is some pictures I took of Isaac and Kameryn this week:

And finally, last night I was working and I heard that Laura, our last shift leader, has decided to move to Wyoming with her boyfriend. That makes it so that again only Sarah and I have worked there for more than a couple of months. Sarah was really stressed out and it came out that she is thinking about leaving too in about six months or so. She is getting married in November, but her and her finace have completely different schedules. He usually works 9 to 5 and she always works the 5 to close shifts. So, I was thinking about it, and I started talking to my boss about maybe giving up some of my cake shifts to be trained as Assistant Manager at my store when Laura leaves. That way either Sarah or I could always been in the store. And, if I start training as an Assitant Manager, then it is likely that soon I can be a manger too. Justin said that even if Sarah left I probably wouldn't be the manager at 4th South since it is so busy and hard to hire people for, but he said he might be able to transfer me to a different store to manage and then if Sarah left and I had already been managing a different store, then I might be able to go back and do that one, etc... He said it is something that we can talk about and something I should be thinking about. So, what do you guys think? I have the opportunity to be a manager again, but the cost is still giving up doing cakes. Not necessarily for good. I can still open and do cakes once a week as a manager, but its not the same. The other thing to consider is that as a manager, I would be working mostly nights, so I would have more of my mornings free to take classes at school. I don't know what to do. Any thoughts?

Yay for Brian Regan---he's amazing, isn't he? I'm glad you had a good time.

Do whatever makes you happiest with the store---if you're happiest making cakes, stick with cakes, and let your boss find someone else to train for assistant manager.

Oh, and I'll miss you too :(

I say go for it. If you don't like being a manager (or an assistant manager) and you miss decorating cakes, you can always go back to doing cakes. I am pretty sure you have job security as long as Justin is your boss. You have proven yourself ten times over and I think he would even let you be a part OWNER, if you wanted!

Dude...you should really read through your blogs. I saw so many errors. (Payback for going to Brian Regen without me). I'm glad you had a good time on your date, but I'm not sure if I've ever seen that guy before. Maybe once or twice... Anyway, you should totally be manager. As far as I've heard, you pretty much run the place anyway. Plus, your forgetting about the extra cash you'll get. Don't you want more DVD's, or season's of tv shows, or a computer of your own? Although, if you got a computer of your own, i'd probably never see you again. :)
