Gotta Make A Left-Hand Turn... AHHHHHH!

I am sorry that I have been so bad about blogging. I am way behind on everything that I have wanted to do, so even though I am planning on blogging about Kennedy's homecoming and Natalie's wedding, I am just too tired to deal with all of those pictures, etc... right now. So, my short story for today is about the ACE semi that hit Trax.

I was doing the paperwork before we opened, when I heard a big semi. I was expecting the Pepsi order, so I walked out front to see if that was the truck that I heard. I saw a huge ACE semi starting to make an illegal left-hand turn. Since Trax comes down 4th, and there is a station right there, there isn't a left-turn lane so you CAN'T turn left there. However, this truck decided that he could. I remember thinking, "You aren't supposed to turn right there, idiot." Right then, Trax came and hit it!! It was like watching two of the giant dinosaurs fighting each other. Trax pushed the ACE truck up into the air and I saw all the dust coming off of both.

Since I watched the whole thing, I ran to the phone and called 911. I know I was the first person to report it because they kept sending me to different people to tell everyone what happened, like the regular police people when you first call in, and then they transfered me to medical services, etc... I could see that the truck driver wasn't hurt because he was on his cell phone looking out the window at the damage. I don't think that anyone on Trax was hurt either since they started getting off and taking pictures in front of the wreck.

Mom later told me that this crash caused over $100,000 in damages. I bet that guy feels like an idiot.

Jay told me that you saw this accident up close and personal! Good job on getting a picture! I think possibly the saddest/funniest part of the story is that the Ace store the truck was going to is in PLAIN SIGHT from that intersection, like 300 yards away! And yeah, any time you want to give the credit for the title of this post, I'll be listening. :)

So true, I do owe you credit for the title. For anyone that doesn't know THAT story, after I got hit by a car that was also just an idiot making a left-hand turn, Kjersti and my mom were up joking about it. Kjersti took the Teddy Bear that I got from the accident and was reinacting the experience. She said, "Got to make a left-hand turn.... AHHHHHHH!"
