SLCC Anomaly

Walking around campus, I came across these two signs. Apparently, I am one of a very few that have ever noticed a problem.

Both signs say "Caution Ped Xing" but the sign on the right side of the street is printed backwards.

Most people in my class had never notice, including my teacher that has worked there for nearly nine years. (She walks passed it at least twice a day.) And no, the sign isn't transparent. It doesn't read correctly coming from the other direction. Strange, huh?

It reads correctly in a rear view mirror. It is probably for trucks backing up to unload. Maybe you have noticed that the word "ambulance" is written this way on the ambulance's front bumper. It is so that if it comes up behind someone, that person can read it correctly (justin case they don't notice the siren and flashing lights!)
